Travel Tips for Pangong Tso

Most visitors reach Pangong Tso via Leh, which has regular flights from Delhi. From Leh, you can hire a private taxi or join a shared jeep. The journey takes approximately 5 hours depending on road conditions.

At 4,350 meters, altitude sickness can be a concern. Spend at least 2 days acclimatizing in Leh before proceeding to Pangong Tso. Drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous activity on your first day.

Pack layers as temperatures vary widely. Essential items include sunscreen (SPF 50+), sunglasses, warm jacket, comfortable walking shoes, and any personal medications. Don't forget your camera!
